           Materials :

50 meters of chunky/bulky weight yarn (Shown in Baby Alpaca Sport by Diamond Luxury)

1 pair 5.5mm/US 9 needles

1 (1 ¼ - 1 ½ ) inch button

Tapestry Needle/Darning needle

      Instructions:

       Cast on 6 sts

       Increase section:

       Row 1:(k1,p1) , rep ( ) to en d of row

       Row 2: K1fb, (k1,p1), repeat ( ) to last st, k1bf

       Row 3: (p1, k1), rep ( ) to end

       Row 4: K1fb, (p1, k1), rep ( ) to last st, k1bf

      Rep rows 1-4 until  22 sts

  

       Main section:

       Row 1: (k1,p1) , rep ( ) to end of row

       Row 2: (p1, k1), rep ( ) to end

      Rep rows 1&2  until headband measures 12 inches/30 cm

      Decrease section:

      Row 1:Ssk, (p1, k1), repeat ( ) to last 2 sts, p2tog

      Row2: (p1, K1) rep ( ) to end of row

      Row 3: p2 tog  tbl, (k1, p1), repeat ( ) to last 2 sts, k2tog

      Row 4: (k1, p1), repeat ( ) to end of the row

      Repeat rows 1-4 until 8 sts remain, ending with row 4

      For button hole:

      Next row : ssk,  p1, yarn round, p2tog,   k1, p2tog

      Next row: (p1, k1), rep ( ) to end

      Next row: (k1,p1) , rep ( ) to end of row

      Next  row: cast off in pattern

      Sew Button to end of band. Button shut.
